How burnout Led to Under Performing

What is burnout?

It is emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by repetitive stress. Prevention is key, but realistically it is harder for some.

Academic challenges:
  • Lowered Concentration: People tend to have decreased concentration because their mind will wander off and feel more irritated and stressed from stress and overwhelmed from. Your mind will feel foggy.
  • Difficulty Managing Time: You may start working at a slower pace and like mentioned, be distracted more easily, which may affect important deadlines.
  • Reduced Problem-Solving Skills: Being able to critically and creatively ponder under stress is a big side effect.
  • Memory issues: Your chances of forgetting important things learned increase, meaning possibly underperforming during exams and tests.
Emotional Challenges
  • Lack of Motivation: When in a state of burnout, you will feel like it is hard to find the energy to do even simple tasks, let alone school work, your enthusiasm will greatly decrease.
  • Increased Anxiety: Knowing you are underperforming academically may lead to more stress and anxiety, and will be a vicious cycle.
Physical:

Fatigue: You will feel tired from a burnout, and it can make it challenging to stay awake during classes and study effectively.

Poor Sleep: Difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep can further contribute to fatigue and cognitive impairment.

All of these symptoms WILL affect your school life. Remember that burnout can happen to anyone! Talk to school counselors, teachers, and positional is the problem is taking a toll on you.
